Air Lease Corporation Announces Lease Placement of Four New Boeing 737-8 MAX with Cayman Airways

FARNBOROUGH, United Kingdom, July 12, 2016 – Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL) announced today the placement of four new 737-8 MAX aircraft on long-term lease to Cayman Airways, delivering between Q4 2018 and Q3 2020 from ALC’s order book with Boeing.

In addition to the lease placement of four new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, Cayman Airways will also lease one used Boeing 737-800 (MSN 30289) from ALC, with delivery in Q4 2016 on a 25-month lease, bridging the airline to the new 737-8 MAX deliveries.

The Deputy Premier of the Cayman Islands and Minister of Tourism with responsibility for the national airline, Hon. Moses Kirkconnell expressed that, “This is a milestone in the history of Cayman Airways and the Cayman Islands. The new aircraft will not only enhance our service levels but will create new gateway possibilities from which the Cayman Islands tourism industry can benefit, such as the US West Coast.
