LOS ANGELES, California, February 28, 2017 — Today Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL) announced a long term lease agreement with Aeromexico for one new Boeing 787-9 aircraft with General Electric engines. The aircraft is from ALC’s order book with Boeing and is scheduled for delivery in June 2018.
"When ALC began in 2010, Aeromexico was our first customer in Latin America. This will be our second new 787-9 on lease to the airline, the first 787-9 delivered in November 2016. The aircraft will be flown primarily on flights between Mexico and Europe and to Asia, replacing a 777-200 being returned to another lessor," said Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation.
"We are pleased to lease another new Boeing 787-9 from ALC in mid-2018, to further strengthen our growing intercontinental route network,” said Dr. Andrés Conesa, Chief Executive Officer of Aeromexico.
